Any way to prove it's him please?

Any suggestions please? I have a Samuel Millsted born 1841 Faversham, Kent. He was always a mariner. I have him with his wife and family in 1881 at 39, South Road, Faversham, but by 1891 his wife is a widow living at 7, Whitstable Road, Faversham. Their last child Daisy Ina was born in 1882 Faversham. I couldn’t find any death that fit at all between 1881-1891 and suspected that he probably died at sea.

I have now found on FindmyPast a record that fits him to a T, apart from his age. Samuel Millsted, master of the Lady Sondes, registered in Faversham. He is listed as drowning (Vessel Totally foundered) on 14-8-1889. It does say last abode 6, Church St, Faversham, but they could easily have moved in between census, The problem is his age is given as 37 (very clear to read), when ‘mine’ would have been more like 47. There isn’t a birth for a Samuel Millsted that fits the 37 age. The only other one is his son born 1870 and I know it isn’t him.

I think they have possibly made a mistake with age, but any ideas how I could prove it please?
